The Ranch

Horses of Warriors is a non-profit organization created to give veterans and first responders a place to reconnect, regulate, and heal through the honest powerful connection of working with horses.

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Army Veteran Jamie Franklin, Horses of Warriors was born from a deeply personal journey of healing. What started as one person finding peace through horses has grown into a place where others can experience that same transformation.

Our nonprofit offers equine therapy for veterans and first responders completely free of charge. The 120-acre ranch on Seco Street, nestled in the beautiful country side of Jamestown, CA, is home to 21 horses and includes 8.2 miles of private horse and hiking trails, an arena and horse training areas.‍ ‍

"These horses saved my life, and many others," says Jamie. "I'm just a steward here, sharing these horses, just like the property owner is sharing his land and the volunteers and horse wranglers are sharing their valuable time and knowledge as well. These horses are the real healers.”
