Horses of Warriors is dedicated to creating a refuge and safe haven for veterans and first responders.
There are a few ways to be a part of Horses of Warriors, whether by spending time on the ranch through membership or supporting the work by volunteering.
Membership provides a way to spend time on the ranch, connect with the horses and be part of the work happening here.
Free For Veterans and First Responders
There is no cost to participate. You are welcome to spend time and engage in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
Getting started
Before participating, we take time to connect and make sure the ranch is a good fit. This helps maintain a safe and respectful environment for both people and horses.
Membership is also how we get to know each individual and confirm veteran or first responder status before participation.
Verification requires proof of service: can include veteran or active duty ID card, DD214, or first responder ID card etc, to be presented at the time of application.

Volunteer Opportunities
Support the ranch by giving your time and helping with day-to-day work.
Help Care for the Horses
As a volunteer you may:
Feed and water the horses
Groom and handle the horses
Assist with basic care and daily routines
Learn and build horsemanship skills

Work outdoors in a hands-on environment

Become a Wrangler
Volunteers who have experience and confidence with horses may have the opportunity to step into a Wrangler role.
Wranglers work more directly with horses and support veterans and first responders during their time on the ranch, including helping prepare horses and assisting with riding.
